How to write a maintenance report for a diesel generator set

Diesel generator sets can be divided into two types according to their usage: one is based on mains power supply and the generator set is the backup power supply equipment; the other is based on the generator set as the main power supply equipment. The usage time of the generator sets in the two situations is very different. Maintenance of the internal combustion engine is generally based on the accumulated hours of startup. The above-mentioned power supply methods only test the machine for a few hours every month. If the technical maintenance hours of Groups B and C are accumulated, then Technical maintenance will take too long, so it should be flexibly grasped according to the specific situation and timely technical maintenance can eliminate the bad status of the machine in time, ensure that the unit is in good condition for a long time, and extend the service life of the machine. Therefore, in order to make the diesel engine work normally and reliably, the technical maintenance system of the diesel engine must be implemented. The technical maintenance categories are divided into:

Diesel Generator Sets for Diverse Applications.jpg

Level A maintenance inspection (daily or weekly)Level B maintenance inspection (250 hours or 4 months)

Level C maintenance inspection (every 1500 hours or 1 year)

Intermediate maintenance inspection (every 6,000 hours or one and a half years)

Overhaul and maintenance inspection (every more than 10,000 hours)

The following is the content of the above five levels of technical maintenance. Please refer to your company for implementation.

  1. Class A maintenance inspection of diesel generator set

If the operator wants to achieve satisfactory use of the generator, the engine must be maintained in optimal mechanical condition. The maintenance department needs to obtain a daily operation report from the operator, arrange time to make necessary adjustments, and make advance notice according to the needs prompted on the report. Scheduling more maintenance work on the project, comparing and correctly interpreting the engine's daily operating reports, and then taking practical measures will eliminate the vast majority of malfunctions without the need for emergency repairs.

  1. Before starting the engine, check the engine oil level. Some engine oil dipsticks have two marks, the high mark "H" and the low mark "L";2. Use the oil dipstick on the generator to check the oil level. In order to get a clear reading, the oil level should be checked after 15 minutes of shutdown. The oil dipstick should be kept paired with the original oil pan and keep the oil level as close to the high "H" mark as possible. Note that when the oil level is lower than the low mark "L" or higher than the high mark "H", never operate the engine;
  2. The engine coolant level should be increased and the cooling system should be kept full to the working level. Check the coolant level every day or every time when refueling to check the cause of coolant consumption. Checking the coolant level can only be done after cooling;
  3. Check whether the belt is loose. If there is belt slipping, adjust it;
  4. Turn on the machine after the following conditions are normal, and conduct the following inspections:

Lubricating oil pressure;
